Switching from Clockify

Bring your Clockify history to Toolrail.
One subscription for the whole stack.

Export your time entries from Clockify's detailed report as a CSV, drop the file into Toolrail, and every entry comes over with its project, client, task and tags. The time tracker keeps working offline, shows the running time on the toolbar, and is one tool in a side panel that also has a screen recorder, a PDF editor and short links.

Every tool has a free planImporting needs PremiumPremium from $20/month, no free-plan limits

Who it's for

Made for you if…

  • You track time for yourself or a few clients, not a large team.
  • You pay for Clockify and for other browser tools, and want one subscription.
  • You want tracking that keeps working when the connection drops.
Bring your data

Move from Clockify to Toolrail

Every time entry in the report, with its description, project, client, task, tags and billable mark.

  1. In Clockify, open Reports, then Detailed, and set the date range to the whole period you want.
  2. Click Export and choose CSV. CSV export needs a paid Clockify plan; Clockify's free plan exports PDF only.
  3. In Toolrail, open the time tracker on the web, go to Settings, press Import and drop the file.
  4. Check the preview, then import. Projects, clients and tags Toolrail doesn't have yet are made as it imports.

What comes over

  • Every entry's description, start, end and length
  • Projects, clients and tasks, matched by name or made new
  • Tags and the billable mark

What doesn't

  • Billable rates and amounts: set your rates in Toolrail
  • Teammates' entries, approvals and expenses: Toolrail tracks one person's time
Import from Clockify You'll see what comes over before anything is added.
What to expect

Time tracker in Toolrail, next to Clockify

Where Toolrail is as good or better, and where it's different. Where Clockify does more, we say so.

Different

  • It's for one person: no team workspaces, approvals or timesheets for others.
  • No desktop or phone app: you track in Chrome and on the Toolrail website.
  • Clockify's free plan costs nothing on its own. Toolrail pays off when it replaces several apps.
The math

One subscription instead of a stack

I'm on Clockify's free plan. Can I still move?

Clockify's free plan exports reports as PDF only, and Toolrail reads the CSV. On a paid Clockify plan, export the detailed report as CSV; otherwise, start tracking in Toolrail and keep your Clockify reports for past months.

Do my projects and clients come over?

Yes. Each entry's project, client, task and tags come over by name, and the ones Toolrail doesn't have yet are made as it imports.

Is importing free?

Importing from Clockify and Toggl Track is part of Premium. Tracking, projects, reports for the last month and exports are free on every plan.

Is Toolrail free?

Yes. Every tool works on the free plan, with a few limits. Premium removes the limits and adds features like share links and cloud storage, for every tool at once. Pro adds signatures, Office conversions and bookmark cleanups on top. You only add a card if you decide to upgrade.
